AVFD Fire-Rescue Log

Here's a sampling of the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department's recent activity.

During the period May 12–19, AVFD received 64 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:

May 12: At 8:22 p.m., a motor vehicle with injury was reported at Community College of Baltimore County in Catonsville. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville career station responded. Two people with non-life-threatening injuries were taken to a local hospital.

May 14: At 8:45 a.m., a motor vehicle accident with rescue was reported on I-695 between Exits 14 and 15 in Catonsville. Crews from the Arbutus and Woodlawn volunteer stations and Westview career station responded. Three seriously injured people were rescued from the vehicle and taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma.

May 14: At 10:10 a.m., a motor vehicle accident with injury was reported on I-195 between Exits 3 and 4 in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville career station responded. One person with non-life-threatening injuries was taken to a local hospital.

May 14: At 10:09 p.m., an injured subject was reported on the 5900 block of Talbot Street in Westview. Crews from the AVFD and Westview career station responded and transported two people with non-life-threatening injuries to a local hospital.

May 17: At 10:10 p.m., a dwelling fire was reported on the 2900 block of Bero Road in Lansdowne. Crews from the Lansdowne, Arbutus and Violetville volunteer stations and Halethorpe career stations responded to find a dryer fire that had self-extinguished.
