Armed Robbers Target ATM Patrons

Two incidents were reported to police at area cash machines on Sunday.

 

One or more armed gunmen was targeting ATM patrons in the area on Sunday, June 17, according to police. 

At around 9:40 p.m., an armed man attempted to rob a 47-year-old Arbutus woman while she was at the ATM of M&T Bank at the Wilkens Beltway Plaza on the 4600 block of Wilkens Ave., according to police.

A man dressed in all black approached the victim, pointed a black revolver into her back, and demanded money, police said. When the victim said she had no money, the suspect fled on foot.

At around 10:11 p.m., a man was withdrawing money from an ATM on the 5600 block of Baltimore National Pike in Catonsville when he was approached by a man wearing a ski mask and holding a black semiautomatic handgun, according to police.

The victim withdrew money for the suspect, who then fled northbound toward Ingleside Avenue in a white sedan, police said.
