Arbutus Neighborhood Hit by Burglaries

Four homes in area southeast of Wilkens Avenue burgled in the past month.

Homes in one Arbutus neighborhood have been targeted in a series of recent daytime burglaries, according to Baltimore County Police Department.

Four homes in the area southeast of Wilkens Avenue have been vandalized between 8 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. in the past month, police sources say.

Between Feb. 18 and Mar. 17, there were break-ins at homes on the 900-block of Elm Ridge Road, the 4300 block of Wilkens Avenue, the 900 block of St. Charles Avenue and the 4000 block of Colchester Road.

In two cases, purses were taken from unlocked homes. A door and a window were forced open in the other two cases, and various items were taken, including video game systems.

The police have no suspects at this time.

Call 9-1-1 if you see something out of place in the neighborhood. Just last week, saw a stranger exiting a neighbor's house, called the police and effectively interrupted a burglary.
