Ultimate Tailgate Cookoff- Ravens Roosts Compete

Baltimore is a place where football is taken very seriously.  Ravens fans are die-hard, and outsiders just don’t understand.  Tailgates are no exception.  Fans barbeque whole pigs, fry turkeys, drink heartily out of red cups, and get loud.  The pregame ritual is about having some good food with friends to fuel your body for three or four hours of battle, consuming some liquid courage and practicing your good luck rituals.

There is no place better to see tailgating in action than The Ultimate Tailgate Cookoff.  Ravens Roosts 25, 69, 79, 97, & 117 will be competing on the Arbutus Volunteer Fire House Parking Lot (5200 Southwest Blvd, 21227) on Saturday September 28, 2013, from 12-4 pm.  Raffles, sports silent auction, kids corner, DJ/Karaoke, and the best tailgating food you can imagine.  Tickets are only $20 (13 and older, 12 and under free) for all you care to eat.

This year, I’ll be there in purple and black, gnawing on a rib, and drinking whatever the hell is in that plastic cup.
