Easement of Relations with Cuba Sends Up Red Flag

Just a little introductory side bar to the ladies and gentlemen on both sides of the political aisle:  I think we can agree and  accept the fact that “redistribution of wealth” in Cuba kinda side tracked citizens who remained on the island, except for the government, of course…. (whose work is for the greater good, of course)?  OK, long as we have that straight.

And so, just another aside…. Please give a  long hard focus in the direction of the comrades and other types that have been on our new administrative scene for some time now including of course,   Van Jones(self avowed communist), Bill Ayers (Weatherman extraordinaire), Rev. Wright, and others too numerous to count…….., just a few of the pro-redistribution of wealth crowd!!  

And now Cuba -  the great land of total “redistribution” of wealth circa 1958!!!   As we look at the Cuba of 2011… we do know that former El Presidente’ Fidel Castro’s brother Raul has stepped up to the plate to be the head honcho since Fidel became very ill some time back.  Certainly Raul’s political stance, though it may be a smidgen  softer, “ain’t” nothing to sneeze at honey child, and definitely nothing to overlook.

Just a small bit of history..Does anyone remember back in 1958 or early 1959 when then Commandante Castro came to the U.S.A. right after the “revolucion” asking for some of our moolah  and did not get any? (It was wild to see him and  his compatriots in fatigues, pony tails and heavy guns slung on their shoulders at the Cuban Embassy).. just a friendly little group of revolutionaries looking for assistance.  Well, upon not getting what he wanted, he gave up the friendly guise very quickly and let his communist focus shine through.  And so Russia said  AH HA HAPPY TIMES ARE HERE AGAIN!!…. Of course we acknowledge that Batista (the former Cuban dictator) was garbaaage, but Castro…welllll, he was a bird of another feather, altogether.   

And further events transpired.  Do any number of us remember when the Russians then put missles in Cuba?  We innocents wondered at first what they were planning to use them for?  The message from Cuba was….– for protection.  Sorry, folks, that wasn’t exactly what they were all about and fortunately, our President and government at the time said …….ahhhhh--- NO CAN DO!!  Must remove…. sorry!!! 

Moving on:  We all do know what communist focus is all about, don’t we?  Don’t know how much truth is being taught about it in school today – hardly taught much about it in my day.  At any rate, we do know, or should know, that TOTAL GOVERNMENT CONTROL is a main focus!!!   See any red flags yet??

And so, through the early years after the revolucion, a huge number of the Cuban inteligencia(educated folks), business folks, physicians, lawyers, teachers, saw the “redness” on the horizon and sought to leave Cuba as soon as possible.  Loss of homes, businesses, even lives was in play as a particular “re-distribution of wealth” game took over the playing field. 

Of course, review of the history that followed made it clear that Castro and his compadres were left with their very own “Oppressive Plantation.”  Guns were taken away from citizens post haste, leaving them with sticks and stones if, of course,  they should possibly want to resist.  No more trouble with them, that’s for sure.   Yikes, I am so glad we don’t have any of that brewing in our home pot. 

I am sorry, forgot something.  One thing he did extremely well – he introduced an outstanding socialized medicine program to Cuba on the backs of health care givers and even loaned newly graduated health care givers out to various parts of the world to help out- an option to graduates on how to repay their debt to their homeland government’s generosity  – so very gracious of him.  Of course – there was always an option to work in the sugar cane fields  Uh oh – could that have anything to do with the easing of relations further down the road and perhaps what our administration is looking at with a further growth of socialistic medicine down the road????  Nahhhh -I know, I know…. Mr. Obama is simply asking “why can’t we all get along, huh??” 

I, of course am mesmerized by the outreach effort….and very curious to know if there will be any bowing  included? 

Oh heck, I just overlooked a possibility.  Perhaps Mr. Obama has found another country he wants to bring democracy to.  Ya think???   This is really getting too thick for my tiny little brain.  Wait a minute, wait just a  doggone minute…I hope he isn’t thinking about opening another border before he closes the one we are having so much trouble with already.  Yikes!!!

Maybe Mr. Obama thinks we can learn from the folks in Cuba and you  know  what?   I definitely do think we can, as long as we look closely at the history and the present and what it has been and it continues to be all about, eh Alfie?…always remembering Fidel brought “change” and he was cheered (at the time) to the heavens-  and then came the “rub”….BIG TIME CHANGE.  Oooops!  There I go again!!!  Nahhhh…don’t want to mix apples and oranges huh?…honey child??

 As a closer…  Still probably a good idea to keep an eye on the Cuban outreach effort…….and in the meantime, whenever we hear the magical word “change,” lets be sure to ask “..excuse me sir, uh madam, exactly what kind of “change” are you proposing?  Would you mind being an angel, and be just a bit more specific?  Oh thank you ever so!
