Things you need to know.

Work is to begin this week to close in Lansdowne. At the last Southwest Leadership Team meeting, Del. James Malone announced that CSX has agreed to pay for a new fence along Hammonds Ferry Road, bringing the Lansdowne streetscape closer to completion.

Not much is open on Thanksgiving, but will be serving traditional breakfast fare as usual from 7:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

at 114 Laverne Avenue is providing a free Thanksgiving dinner from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All the traditional food and fixings will be available, no questions asked.

Parking will be free in the more than 140 metered spots in the historic district from Nov. 25 – Jan 2. Although meters will be free, the county is still asking that shoppers limit parking time to two hours, the same time limit as non-metered spaces.

Santa makes his annual return to Arbutus on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 6 p.m., where he will take residence at the Santa House next to . If you're interested in being a Santa House sponsor, forward your donations to ABPA by Nov. 18. Donations of $100 or more receive a mention on the Ice Cream Cottage sign.
