Arbutus Observes Memorial Day

Members of Dewey Lowman Post 109 pay tribute to the fallen.

On Memorial Day, members of Dewey Lowman American Legion Post 109 were joined by elected officals to remember fallen veterans at the Arbutus memorial on Oregon Drive.

After Post 109 chaplain Ed Godman's led a prayer, second vice-commander Pat Miller fecited the Pledge of Allegiance. Cass Schreiner sang the National Anthem and "God Bless America." Brief speeches were given by Post Commander Chuck Catterton and councilman Tom Quirk, who spoke on behalf of local elected officials including state Sen. Ed Kasemeyer and Dels. James Malone and Steven DeBoy.
