Week Ahead in Weather: Guess What? More Rain

Rain is the name of the game in the area this week.

The sun made brief appearances Sunday and Monday morning, but don’t get used to it. The National Weather Service forecasts rain four out of the next five days.

According to NWS, there is a 40 percent chance of rain Monday afternoon.  In its hazardous weather outlook, NWS warns that storms could become dangerous, with gusty winds. Daytime temperatures will reach the low 90s and drop to the mid-70s at night, and there’s a 50 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms. 

Tuesday's forecast is similar to Monday: highs in the low 90s and a 40 percent chance of rain. Tuesday night will be cooler, however, with temperatures dropping to the mid-60s and a 30 percent chance of rain.

NWS is forecasting a mid-week reprieve, with sunny skies Wednesday and temperatures in the high-80s. The threat of rain will return Wednesday evening, with a 20 percent chance of precipitation and temperatures in the low 70s.

Back to cloudy skies Thursday, when there is a 40 percent chance of rain and temperatures reach the low 90s. Thursday night looks cloudy with temperatures in the mid-70s, but no rain in the forecast as of Monday.

Heading into the weekend, Friday’s forecast is partly sunny, with a 30 percent chance of rain and temperatures near 90 during the day and in the low-70s at night. The chance of rain remains the same through Saturday.
