Two Charged in Halethorpe Assault

Two men in group grabbed a juvenile and ran a knife across his throat while the others acted as lookouts, police said.

Two men were arrested and charged for a March 15 assault on a juvenile male in the 2000 block of Jeanne Avenue in Halethorpe.

Baltimore County police said that at around 4 p.m. the 14-year-old victim walked out a residence and spoke to a group of five suspects hanging out in the neighborhood.

Timothy James Brown, 20, of the 3900 block of Zurich Road in Randallstown, has been charged with grabbing the victim while 19-year-old Timothy James Maynard of the 800 block of Seckel Court in Riverview pulled a knife and ran it across the victim's neck, according to police.

Maynard drew the knife across the skin in multiple areas, leaving several cuts and abrasions, police said.

Three others in the group acted as lookouts while Brown and Maynard assaulted the victim.

All of the suspects ran after thinking they saw the police approach, according to officials.

Arrest warrants were issued for Brown and Maynard, who were arrested, charged with first-degree assault and held at Baltimore County Detention Center in Towson on $100,000 bail.
