Police Blotter: Rite Aid Robbery Nets Drugs

Rite Aid Robbed of Drugs

The pharmacist at the Rite Aid store on the 1400-block of Sulphur Spring was robbed by two men who claimed that they had a gun. The incident happened at around noon on Sept. 20.

According to police, man approached the pharmacist counter at the store and demanded drugs. Although a gun was implied, no weapon was displayed.

The suspect took two bottles of pills, left the store, and met a second suspect on the street before both men left the scene in a car, according to police.

The first suspect was described as a male black in his 30s, about 5'7" and 150 pounds, who wore black clothing. The second suspect was described as a black male in his 30s, about 6' with a large frame.

Lansdowne Altercation Leads to Assault

An early morning encounter between two groups of people in Lansdowne on Sept. 25 resulted in a number of people being beaten with fists and a golf club.

At around 2:45 a.m., a group of four men and one woman--all of whom resided on the 200-block of Clyde Avenue--were approached by a group of four white males who began a verbal altercation that escalated to physical violence.

As the victims retreated indoors and tried to close the door, the suspects kicked in the door and entered the residence. One suspect grabbed a golf club and began to strike people, while a second suspect assaulted other victims. The men then fled on foot.

One suspect was described as a white male 20-25 years old who is about 6'3" tall and 200 pounds with dark hair and a chinstrap beard, wearing a grey hoodie. A second suspect is a white male about 6' and 180 pounds, with brown hair, wearing a black shirt and khaki shorts. The two others were white males 20-25 years old with no further description.

Metal Thefts in the Area

Sept 19: At around 8 a.m., 900 feet of copper wiring was discovered missing in a house being renovated on the 3000-block of Bero Road n Lansdowne. At some time since Sept. 16, an unknown person entered the house through a rear window and removed the wiring.

Sept. 20: At around 8:15 a.m., a woman on the 5500-block of Link Avene in Arbutus discovered a brown metal chair had been stolen from her front porch. She last saw the chair at around 4 p.m. the previous afternoon. 

Sept. 21: At around 11:38 a.m., copper was discovered stolen from air conditioning units on the roof of the Lansdowne Baltimore Highlands Senior Center on the 400-block of 3rd Avenue in Lansdowne. It was taken some time between Sept. 16-21.

Sept. 22: At around 5 a.m., a copper theft was discovered at Pike Electric on the 1900-block of Brady Avenue in Halethorpe. At some time since 7 p.m. the previous evening, an unknown person took rolls of copper wire from 12 trucks parked in a fenced area.

Sept. 22: At around 5:30, copper wiring was discovered stolen from an air conditioning unit at Lansdowne Assembly of God on the 100-block of 5th Avenue in Lansdowne. The air conditioner was removed and copper wiring stolen at some time since 10 p.m. the previous evening.

Burglaries in the Area

Sept. 21: Sometime between 7:10 a.m. and 3 p.m., an unknown person entered a residence on the unit block of Babybird Court in Baltimore Highlands throgh a fronbt window and stole a flat screen television set a laptop computer, an iPod Touch and money.

Sept. 22: At some time between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., an unknown person broke through an unlocked bathroom window to enter a residence on the 4300-block of Baltimore Street in Baltimore Highlands and took two laptop computers and a digital camera.
