- Frederick Law Olmsted was born on this date in 1822. Olmsted raised lansdcape design to an art form. Perhaps best known for New York City's Central Park, Olmsted left his mark on several Baltimore neighborhoods, including Roland Park and Ellicott Drive, now part of the lovely Gwynns Falls Trail.

- Arbutus Senior Center, at 855A Sulphur Spring Road, is looking for volunteers to participate in a training video for the Baltimore County Department of Health. They need 100 volunters with a variety of ethnic backgrounds, age groups (at least 18 years old), and mobility challenges. The event will be held at the Arbutus Recreation Center from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
