Baltimore County Public School Employee Promotes Smoking to Students

We call him "The Smoking Bus Driver." With a friendly wave and a flick of his butt, this state employee contradicts the very principles being taught at the last stop of his bus.

We don't know his name, but every morning after depositing his students at their respective school buildings, “The Smoking Bus Driver” parks in front of my house a few feet shy of the fire hydrant.

Perhaps this placement is psychological. My young children watch him from between the slats of my living room blinds as he steps out of the accordion door onto my front lawn. He lights his cigarette, with his big, iconic yellow school bus for a back-drop. Suck, puff, flick, cough, wave, grin, back in the bus.

The public schools stress in their Health & Safety Classes the dangers of cigarettes, nicotine, drugs, alcohol etc. Should I not expect them to keep their employees from setting a bad example for my children? Am I being too nit-picky? Your thoughts, please.
