Let Me Introduce Myself

Nice to meet you :)

Hello.

My name is Chris Koloski, some of you may recognize me more from my maiden name of Wickless. the Wickless name has been around Lansdowne for many years!

My Grandfather owned a business on Hammonds Ferry Road where A to Z Electronics now sits. He owned "Pop" Wickless' Pool Hall.  The business closed when I was very young, but our family continued to live there for many years.

My Dad was Officer James Wickless, otherwise known as Officer Wick by residentsof the community or Ditty by his police officer friends. Many older folks in the neighborhood remember him walking the beat and always taking the teenage boys under his wing.

I am proud to come from a family of three generations of BCPD Officers. My brother Jim is a Lietenant in the BCPD and will be retiring this month after 30 years of service. His son Jim Wickless currently serves as our Wilkins Precinct Outreach Officer and his wife is a Wilkins Precinct  Officer serving our community as well.

Lansdowne has always been home to me and my six siblings. My Mom and Dad are no longer with us, but all of us still live in the area with the exception of one sister who lives in Missouri.

I married when I was just a "baby" to a young Coast Guard sailor named Gary Koloski. Gary is from Springfield Massachusetts. Our Coast Guard life took us to to different locations, but my heart was always in Lansdowne. In 1986 we had a son; Ryan. In 1990 we moved back to Lansdowne and Gary retired from the Coast Guard in order to spend more time with our only child.

When Ryan entered school we became very active in the PTA, Cub Scouts, Little League.. you name it !! I was the PTA President at Lansdowne Elementary and Gary coached Little League...those are fond memories :)

In about 2004 Gary and I became Board members of the Lansdowne Improvement Association. We held the offices of VP and Secretary until last year. Elections were held in May of this year and we will be returning as 1st and 2nd Vice President. Brian Baily has been elected as President. We look forward to working hard for the citizens of Lansdowne.

I am also currently serving as Secretary for the Wilkins Police Community Relations Organization... my Daddy would be proud :)

I am a former Board member of the Lansdowne Business and Professional Organization.

So, what else ? Oh yes...I am also an Energy Healing Practitioner and am putting  a lot of my time into building my practice. Energy Healing is not very well known in the area, so educating people about it is a priority for me. One of my goals this year is to teach simple exercises in energy healing so folks ( especially seniors ) can help themselves to achieve pain relief and stress reduction. I have a website and a Facebook page. You can learn more about my practice at www. sanctuaryenergyhealer.com or go to Sanctuary Energy Healing on Facebook and "like" my page. I recieved training at Tai Sophia Institute and worked in a practicum clinic for 3 years. I am a Certified Bodywork Therapist and my modalities include.. Energy Balancing, Reiki, Mindfulness Meditation for stress reduction, QiGong and Native American Healing Techniques.

My husband Gary is currently employed by the US Coast Guard under Homeland Security. His job is centered on keeping us safe and free, but I can't say any more. He is one of the many faces who will remain unseen to protect our country from the threat of terrorism. He is active in the American Legion, PVRC and the LIA.

We will be married 37 years this August...wow...all that time and we only knew each other for three months before we were wed !  I guess it is true that opposites attract...most of our views are different, but we can compromise and agree to disagree :) my family calls us Dharma and Greg... or the Hippie and the Admiral....LOL

well...guess I covered just about everything. I look forward to posting things about the hometown... till then...Peace, Love and Lansdowne   :)
