IronMan's 1994 Suburban Up For Auction

Cal Ripken drove a black Chevy Suburban regularly in the mid-to-late-90s. It can be yours.

For superstitious folks, it was the star player's ride the last time the Orioles were in the playoffs.

For baseball fanatics, it's  former gameday car.

A 1994 Suburban that Ripken drove from his Baltimore County home to Oriole Park at Camden Yards regularly in the latter part of his career is up for auction.

The vehicle—since updated—was used during the weeks leading up to his record-breaking 2,131st consecutive game in Sept. 1995. He used it in the playoff years of 1996 and 1997, too.

Now, Ripken is selling the truck. It can be yours.

A winning bid also comes with airfare and lodging and admission to an exclusive Sept. 5 gala at Sports Legends. The event will honor Ripken and teammate Eddie Murray.

In a statement, Ripken said: "Kelly and I thought that the time was right and we thought it would be a fun way to celebrate the streak in light of the wonderful honor the Orioles are bestowing on me this year. We have been very focused on helping kids and building fields and the funds raised from the sale of this truck will help us continue to do that. We had many great times in the Suburban and the memories will last forever. I hope that enthusiatic baseball fans and collectors will view this as a very unique piece of memorabilia."

The estimated price range for the package is $50,000—and as of Thursday afternoon, the bid had surpassed half that value.

Bidding—through Hunt Auctions—will close at 8 p.m. on August 28.
