The Center For Pregnancy Concerns (CPC) will open a center in Arbutus Tuesday.
It's set to open at 5406 East Drive in Arbutus, and will be open from 2-7 Tuesday. This will be the fourth CPC in Baltimore County, according to a news release.
CPC aims to "provide clients with peer-to-peer counseling, free pregnancy testing, pre-natal development information, limited sonograms, prenatal vitamins, maternity clothing and referrals to community resources including housing, healthcare and adoption information," the release states.
It also helps families with small children that need infant clothing and supplies. There are also parenting and life skills classes, and other educational programs.
There are already three other CPC Centers, located in Canton, Dundalk and Essex, the release states.
The CPC program began in 1980 to help women who needed to deal with an unplanned pregnancy and the situations that occur with it, it states.
For more information on any of the centers, call 410-391-3911.
Why would there be a need for this place anyway? Obama has us paying for birth control, abortions, feeding children at least twice a day at school, Section 8 housing, food stamps, cell phones and free health care. Whatever problem a person could have is taken care of by the tax payer already. A Pregnancy center isn't needed, the whole thing can be avoided if she just takes her birth control or has an abortion. Also, I wonder why this place isn't located in Towson rather than Arbutus..
I know some of what you said is tongue and cheek but it's not about ghettos and Arbutus has people too. This location will serve anyone choosing to walk in the door concerned about pregnancy issues. You might consider sending them a donation to help defray the costs of running the center. The volunteers would love to have your support.
