Saturday

Baltimore hosts its Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade.

We're still more than two months off from the first pitch at Camden Yards, but help satisfy your hunger from some Orioles magic at the team's annual FanFest at the Baltimore Convention Center from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event includes demonstrations, discussion panels, merchandise and even a tour of the Orioles dugout. Autograph vouchers for FanFest are sold out but kids ages 2 to 14 can visit a table for free autographs throughout the day.

Speaking of the Orioles, tickets for the 2013 season go on sale at 10 a.m. and will be available on the team's website, at FanFest or at the Camden Yards box office.

Towson University's men's basketball team takes on James Madison. Tip-off is at noon.

Hockey is officially back, after months on ice (or rather, off ice) during a dispute between the NHL and its players union. The Washington Capitals open the season on the road at the Tampa Bay Lightning. The game starts at 7 p.m. and will air on Comcast SportsNet.

Sunday

So Baltimore has this professional football team, and apparently they're kind of good. Good enough, after last week, to make it to an AFC championship rematch with the New England Patriots. The Ravens kick off in Foxborough at 6:30 p.m. The game will air on CBS.

Monday

President Barack Obama will be publicly sworn in outside the U.S. Congress in Washington (though the actual swearing-in will take place on Sunday, constitutionally the first day of his second term). If you plan on going, read more on the inauguration, access and rules on the congressional website. The Washington Metro subway will have special hours and service adjustments for the day.

Also, it's Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a federal holiday. Many public facilities, including schools and county offices, will be closed.
