Prince of Peace Ecumenical Touring Choir-Free Concert

The Prince of Peace Ecumenical Touring Choir will perform at Holy Nativity Lutheran Church Sunday June 24 th beginning at 1:00pm.  Holy Nativity Lutheran Church is located at 1200 Linden Avenue, Halethorpe, MD 21227, near the UMBC campus.

This choir hails from Crofton, Maryland.  Founded in 1996 by Prince of Peace Presbyterian Church’s Music Director, Suzann Barthold, the choir performs for local, foreign, and domestic audiences, and travels extensively in Europe and North America. The choir’s inaugural tour was at the International Advent Music Festival in Vienna, Austria and in 2001 the choir received a Bronze Cup at the 2001 International Choir Competition in Verona, Italy. Since then the choir has performed at music festivals in Montecatini, Italy, in Massachusetts and Vermont, and in individual music tours throughout Scotland, England, and central Germany. The choir was most recently the only American group to participate in the Cantate Barcelona Choral Festival in October 2010.  Their next tour will take them a major international cultural festival held in Ghent, Belgium in July 2012 where their repertoire will include both sacred and secular music by American composers as well as spirituals and folk music.

Choristers come from many different denominations, including Presbyterian, Lutheran, Methodist, Baptist, Roman Catholic, and Serbian Eastern Orthodox. Most singers also participate in their own church choirs and in community Choral Festivals held in Crofton and at the Naval Academy in Annapolis. Choristers especially enjoy caroling for shut-ins at the Christmas holidays. Overcoming the differences in their individual worship styles, members of the Prince of Peace Ecumenical Touring Choir rejoice in Christian fellowship and making a joyful noise to the Glory of the Lord. Please join us for this wonderful event. Admission is free, but they will accept good will donations after the performance.
