Restored Sign Unveiled in Halethorpe
Kokoski family worked together to restore faded, broken sign.
On Dec. 3, Halethorpe Improvement Association unveiled a landmark sign that was restored by members of the Kokoski family.
For years the sign was located at Potomac and Arbutus avenues in Halethorpe, near the I-95 overpass. A few years ago the sign was stolen, only to show up after a $1000 reward was offered, broken into pieces, in a wooded area. By then, the sign was faded and beaten-up.
The Kokoski family worked together to reassemble and strengthen the sign, repaint it, and return it to its original glory. On Dec. 3, the restored sign was unveiled by a group of residents and elected officials.
