Play Ball!

Girls softball and baseball now taking place in Lansdowne.

Spring is here.  The kids are starting to play outside more, and adults are out walking the family dog.  There are many activities to get your children involved in when spring hits.  Two of the most popular sports for children to get involved in are baseball and softball.

Last week was the first practice for both.  There are many children that want to get out and play sports when the nice weather comes around and this is a great league to start your kids in.  The Southwest Area Girls Softball league is for ages 5-16.

The registration dates are already over with, but if you come up to the fields on the practice days, they will accept late registrations.  Girls Softball is on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6 p.m.

Baltimore Highlands Recreation Council baseball league is ages 5-16 and they play on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 p.m.  Their first practice was last week.  The coaches were really great with the kids and eager to help teach them.  They started with grabbing partners and playing catch.  Then they moved on to different exercises including the coach hitting the ball and the kids throwing the ball to each of the bases.  Late registrations are also accepted for baseball, so come sign your children up.

Registration is $50.  You must bring a Birth Certificate and a parent must accompany their child to register.  They are also still looking for Umpires and Coaches.  Sponsors are greatly appreciated.  If you’re interested in signing your child up and, check their web site or call Joe Hall at 443-438-8585.
