Why Go: Jay Cleaver and the Love Leaders are performing live at this free weekly summer concert series. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the tunes!

Where/When: on Saturday, July 16, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Why Go: Help out a worthwhile nonprofit (Lighthouse Inc) at this fun event. The cost of the ticket buys a tee-shirt, discounts at restaurants and stores along Frederick Rd. and a chance to bid on silent auction items.

Columbia:

Where/When: 5435 Beaverkill Rd. on Sunday, July 17, at 7 a.m.

Why Go: You and your family can get in some exercise while raising money for the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults. You'll bike to each of the area's 23 swimming pools and swim one lap in each. Refreshments will be served during the ride and at the end!

Elkridge:

Where/When: on Friday, July 15, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Why Go: See America's history come alive at this very special performance by Travis Bowman. This will teach you and your family all about Peter Francisco, Hercules of the American Revolution.

Where/When: on Sunday, July 17, at 9 a.m.

Why Go: After liturgy, which starts at 9 a.m., stick around for a picnic filled with fun, food and fellowship!

Ellicott City:

Where/When: on Saturday, July 16, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Why Go: Bring the kids because there will be plenty of children's games, not to mention food and live music! Proceeds will benefit the Armed Forces Foundation.

Where/When: on Sunday, July 17, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Why Go: The Deanna Bogart Band plays a wide variety of music, from swing to blues to rock. They are sure to please even the pickiest of listeners!
