Charlestown Residents March In MLK Day Parade
Six residents of the Charlestown Retirement Community participate in the federal holiday celebration.
Six residents of the Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville marched in the 11th annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Parade, in Baltimore City, on Monday.
The residents belong to the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILFP), Catonsville Branch and the Women in Black, Baltimore.
The residents range in age from 73 to 90 years old. Ellen Tharp will turn 91 on Wednesday.

The other marchers included Phyllis Yingling, 79, Pat Green, 75, E. J. Urbas, 79, Sondra Tucker, 73, and Marjean Irwin, 75.
The parade route through downtown Baltimore was about one mile long. The group walked the entire distance.
