Part of a $11 million complex that includes a library and a community recreation center, the Arbutus Senior Center opened in August 2010. It is the 20th senior center created by Baltimore County. The Arbutus Senior Center provides social, recreational and educational opportunities for residents age 60 or older.

The center has a fitness room with 8 pieces of cardio and strength training equipment, a multipurpose room with full multi-media capabilities and kitchen, two classrooms, two craft rooms including one with a kiln and a game room.

The center provides a five-day-a-week group lunch at a cost of $2.50 per member. Other activities include dancing, yoga, ceramics, bingo and health screenings.
