Soft Drink Proposal Hard to Swallow

If I stayed awake day and night for one hundred years…I could never, ever have come up with a more fabulous blog issue than this one…honest!!! Referring to headlines….

Note the term “expansion”…wonder if it has any relation to “forward”……

OK gang.  Let us sit back on this one…either have a great laugh or perhaps give it some serious thought.. another To Be or Not To Be issue no doubt.  Keep in mind, Mayor Bloomberg is serious as a heart attack.  So, so much control…makes one dizzy thinking about it.  And now, of all places in the world for such a deliberate in your face nanny state control effort…the Great City of New York that has suffered so much will now, no doubt, need to tighten their belts a bit every time they give any thought…what so ever…to having  a LARGE SODA or OTHER SUGARY DRINKS in the city’s restaurants, etc.  Wow!!  What a brilliant proposal…must have lost a lot of sleep coming up with this one.

Now we may laugh or perhaps pause to look more closely at this proposal.  Perhaps folks might instead have an occupy moment rather than enter any of these businesses UNTIL the proposal itself is BANNED.  Just a thought honey child, just a thought.  Sometimes ya just gotta draw the line on  these darlings. Or, wait a minute, wait a minute…..they can always have “large soda drink speak easys” large cups being secreted over the State lines…ahhh yes, I can see it now.  We are losing it gang, definitely losing it!!!  If we go for this one, I can safely assume our elevators are no longer stopping at all floors!!!

This seems like some kind of joke! Doesn't positive re-enforcement work better? Why not just make healthier options cheaper or free even?! If I have a choice between a free bottle of water or paying more for a large soda at an already expensive movie theater, I'm going for the water. Putting limits on these things will just make some people want them more. Just a bad idea on so many levels.

Well Melissa, apparently some in government think we need to be closely supervised and little by little they are reaching out to see how it plays. I, for one, say draw the line immediately. A strong message to the elected folks....Stick to the job you were elected to do and if you do that well we will all be in much better shape...

Well, I prefer to avoid labeling in the liberal category, but rather a strong and aggressively ambitious need to sit upon a throne. But fortunately for us we decided otherwise 300 years ago. Ha, ha, ha, brings back memories when I was a child growing up my parents always referred to the "toilet" as The Throne. Probably the only "throne" that will be permitted in our great country now or in the future my dear political darlings...so get use to it honey child!!!

You took on a good subject even some thinks it may be minor, It goes way beyond that, its called Freedom of choice, what ever happened of the concept of the people and by the people? I like choice of words you use. . get back to the basics You go Girlfriend!

Thanks Arbutus Town Crier.....I truly hope folks don't think this up front...in-your-face attack by the benevolent Mayor Bloomberg is just a minor bump in the road. Rather it is as I see it another move in a long line of political garbaage that hastens our country's death by a thousand stings. And then we wake up one day and say "holy crap, how the hell did we become a police state???...I must have been drugged or drunk or crazy out of my mind not to have noticed..." No my darlings, not drugged, drunk or crazy (well maybe a little off kilter) just not paying close attention for which, my angels, you will rue the day. It is one of many, many political moves that are slowly eating away at the very fabric of our great nation...probably has a lot to do with the new buzz word "FORWARD." Hopefully folks will ask the big question they forgot to ask when "CHANGE" was the new buzz word....Perhaps the question should go something like this....Excuse us oh great political geniuses....when you mention the word "forward" please explain WHAT DIRECTION THE TERM FORWARD MEANS FOR THE FUTURE OF OUR GREAT COUNTRY??? Right now you are trying us out with "sodas and sugary substances"...just a little practice, right?? Something to get a bead on just how dummied down we have become. Geez, the things I think of as a retired workerbee...mind boggling, absolutely mind boggling. :-)

wow now you think as i do, you might be labeled as a residence of Sping Grove ! we must go back to what the country was all about and not what they teach in schools to our children l Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence?
Five signers were captured by the British as traitors, and tortured before they died. Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned. Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army; another had two sons captured. Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or hardships of the Revolutionary War. They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor. What kind of men were they?

Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists. Eleven were merchants, nine were farmers and large plantation owners; men of means, well educated. But they signed the Declaration of Independence knowing full well that the penalty would be death if they were captured.

Lorna, best thing I can recommend as you call in you face if its truth and can back it up Put it in there face Truth, will stand alone like a rock Truth trumps all and needs not to be defended. When the truth is spotlighted not the messenger becomes the bystander the focus is on the truth, don't worry be happy your doing the what is right
