Lorna, not to debate the issue with you (I understand fully that one can not do that without the exchanges disintegrating into some level of personal attacks...not by you, but by others), but, to be clear, the President issued an Executive Order. Executive Orders have been issued by U. S. Presidents since 1789. So to label Obama's action as a sign of some sort of "dictatorship" is a little disingenuous, unless of course you include in this dictatorial reign such luminaries as Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush, who both issued a their fair share of Executive Orders.

Ahh, Sean, so good to hear from you. I like "luminaries." I don't think "disingenuous" quite fits though...It is my perception that I share in my blog.....not what "executive orders" were mean't to be used for, nor how they have been used in the past (John did it why can't I childish syndrome) but exactly as I see this particular one..... being used as an abuse of the privilege. Not the slightest bit concern for the population he espouses to give a "leg up" but rather to pounce upon the opportunity to obtain some political favor down the road. As for me, well ..."I calls them as I sees them..." And my perception of what I see ain't pretty honey child!! It would be disingenuous of me not to be forthcoming with regard to what I "see" as a particularly pathetic strong arm political twist coming from the Big boys and girls in the back room of the White House. Right on the heels of the huge " secret information leaks".... right on the heals of the "fast and furious" moves...all with a standard air of arrogance. Stay tuned....there will be much more coming...we can pretty much bet on that. If this is FORWARD...we the people will not recognize what is left of our rights when this dusty march is over. And so, I think it imperative be very, very clear as we REMEMBER TO REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER.... And thank you Sean...it is so refreshing not to have to interact with "name calling"...at least not yet. :-)

Lorna, so you don't like the President's Executive Order. That's fair enough. But to call his presidency a "dictatorship" because you don't like his Executive Order seems a bit over the top. But those opposed to this president seem to have a penchant for going over the top, from Rep. Joe "You Lie!" Wilson to the reporter who interrupted President Obama while he was announcing this Executive Order.

Oh no honey child, you are missing my point entirely! I declare, from my perspective, that there is a power complex in play here, with a definite tendency to dictatorialize with utilization to pursue a deep and abiding political outcome not necessarily in favor of the total rights of our great people and great country.... no matter what side of the aisle you sit on. "Although there is no Constitutional provision or statute that explicitly permits Executive Orders, there is a vague grant of "executive power" given in Article II, Section 2, Clause 1 of the Constitution, and furthered by the declaration "take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed" made in Article II, Section 3, Clause 4, that has been construed as justification for the legal weight of Executive orders." Can we skip the old elementary school playground. "he did it, they did it, we can do it too...Nanny, Nanny boo, boo!" Declaring my opinion to be "over the top" because I don't like his Executive Order is not quite on the money. Can we ride on by his obvious charm and focus on this particular "command", the meat of the subject, and consequences we face therein. I trust you will share your feelings in that regard. and in that arena, I stand with my opinion that this was a dictatorial move...a sharp shot over the bow at the very pocket books of our beloved people...with a wink and nod and in your face my darlings. We grow weary honey child, very, very weary.

Oh heck....one more perception....take a good hard look at all the quick "slight of hand" movements coming from the White House and just imagine what four more years will look like...I hasten to guess!!!

Make no mistake - the goal of the extreme Liberal left is to draw illegal immigrants into the open, accelerate their citizenship, and populate the Democratic party rolls in Florida and border states that now tend to favor Republicans. They want to dominate the Electoral College that selects future presidents. Their goal is not to extend an open hand to help immigrants - it is to enhance the prosperity of the Democratic Party and expand their power far into the future.

Personally, I do not like domination of any one party...I feel we have suffered from domination syndromes...the attack on Bush alone is interesting since one party was in supreme power in the Congress the last two years of his presidency and it weren't his'ns, were it???? Just don't hear much about what those folks were doing to bring us to the so-called "brink" or better yet, what they should have done to stop it!!!
