Mar. 25 Update: Story edited to add information about the suspect's description.
A 27-year-old English Consul woman was robbed at gunpoint while stopped at a traffic light on the 3600-block of Washington Boulevard, near Lansdowne Shopping Center, according to police.
At around 1:37 p.m. on March 16, while sitting at a traffic light the woman was approched by a suspect who asked her for a cigarette, police said. When the woman said that she did not have one, the suspect opened the driver's door and placed a black handgun to her side and rummaged through her purse, according to police.
The suspect took the woman's Newport cigarettes and Xanax medication, as well as $1,160 in cash, and then entered the passenger side of a blue Dodge Neon and fled, according to police.
The suspect was described as a black male in his 20s, about 5-foot-9 and 200 pounds, who was nicely groomed with a mustache and beard, wearing a black hoodie, police said. No description of the driver of the Dodge Neon was available.

I don't know if I believe this story or not. Somehow it just doesn't ring true. Also, the description is not accurate. If you are going describe the perpetrator down to his beard and mustache don't leave out the most important info,.....was he white, black or Asian. I wouldn't expect the victim to know the nationality but they would at least know white, black or Asian.

Why is someone carrying around $1160 in cash? And if you were, would you even talk to a stranger at a traffic light?

i can believe it 100%, I hate going to that shopping center, and the description is fine thats better than what most people would give. And for all you no she could have been going to pay a bill or even coming home from the bank not everyone is broke. Instead of saying its a lie maybe you should be more worried about people safety! Lets see what is said when one of you are robbed one day
