Water Main Breaks in Halethorpe
Lane of southbound Southwestern Boulevard closed south of MARC Halethorpe Station.
Work have been delayed in the repair of a broken 16-inch water main that temporarily shut down the southbound lanes of Southwestern Boulevard on Thursday afternoon.
The water main, owned by the City of Baltimore, is located on the western side of Southwestern Boulevard near the ramp leading to Washington Boulevard.
City officials were not able to identify the neighborhoods that may be affected by the water outage.
Work to repair the broken main began Thursday afternoon, but were suspended due to an equipment problem, according to a city employee at the scene who asked not to be identified.
The repair work will resume Friday morning, he said.
City officials were unable to provide a deadline for completion of the repair.
In the meantime, the outer southbound lane of Southwestern Boulevard is closed south of the MARC Halethorpe Station.
