Update: Injuries Reported in Walmart Fight in Lansdowne Involving Bleach
Officials say household chemicals were used in an assault.
Update 6 p.m.
The suspect from the fight at the Walmart followed the victim into the store. The suspect assaulted the victim and poured bleach and Pine-Sol on the victim according to the Baltimore County Police Department.
After the assault, the suspect left the store and went to the Baltimore County Police Wilkens Precinct. The suspect was placed under arrest at the precinct.
Suspect information will be released after the bail hearing is completed.
An employee of WalMart was also injured during the assault, police said. The extent of injuries to the victim and the Walmart employee are unknown.

Update 1 p.m.
Two women involved in a fight Saturday morning at the Walmart at 3601 Washington Blvd. in Lansdowne began throwing bleach at each other, injuring at least three people and forcing an evacuation, fire and police officials said.
One person faced arrest and charges were pending, police said. No names were released.
“Officers determined that two women were involved in a physical confrontation while inside the store,” spokesman John Wachter of the Baltimore County Police Department said in a statement.
He said the women threw bleach and another chemical at one another and the mixture of chemicals resulted in several customers being treated for possible injuries. One person was transported to the Wilmer Eye Institute and two were transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

Pick up earlier story here:

Fire deparment spokesperson Glenn Blackwell said hazardous materials units and 10 medic units were sent to the scene.
At least one person was transported to Wilmer Eye Clinic.
"There are initial reports of people throwing bleach and a mixture of bleach and ammonia," Blackwell said in a statement.
The store was being evacuated, he said.
This story was edited to clarify the location of the Walmart store.

That Walmart is disgusting! It has consistantly drawn a much lower class of people than lives in this general area. I drive to the Severn Walmart to avoid the loud, dirty, misbehaved people that frequent the Washington Blvd store. The other thing is that I have noticed that Washington Blvd store's prices are higher than the Glen Burnie Walmart. Glen Burnie will be a Super Walmart soon, I hope it is a better place to shop than ours.

I usually try to be objective and not be judgemental, but I have to agree with comment.A few years ago , I was visiting my daughter who lives in Halethorpe. I had heard about the new,Walmart- Superstore! We decided to visit it and do a little, shopping.Well, needless to say, the cashier was rude and there were people shopping there, that I would't invite in my home.I happen to live in Montgomery County, MD. and believe me , we do have our fair share of ignorant, people, but that Walmart surpasses us by a mile! After my experience at that Walmart, I thank God for the Target Stores, in my area.

I went in there about 10 mins after the fight with my two young children to shop for a birthday party we were heading to. Everyone waa still shopping and we didn't smell anything. We were in there for half an hour and heading to the checkout when all of a sudden the employees started running around telling people to evaculate. I'm glad it was such a hazard that they let me go in there with my infant and toddler and shop for 30mins before they decided it was unsafe. We ended up going to the party empty handed because of some stupid fight.

21227 is the Halethorpe Post Office. That's why it is referred to, at times, as Halethorpe. Why nitpick over the neighborhood it suppose to be in, rather than come
up with ideas to improve the store. It effects Lansdowne, Arbutus and Halethorpe - all of us. Energy spent on finger pointing the area is pointless. What can be done to improve it for the safety of all 3 areas is what we need to focus on.

Pamela Mahee,
I agree the Walmart in Lansdowne Station does effect its adjacent communities such as Arbutus, Halethorpe, Relay, etc. But noone would expect the residence of Lansdowne to take ownership of the problems Arbutus has such as vacant buildings (Super Fresh) or take ownership of the problems involving the Adult Shop in Halethorpe. Community & Neighborhood boundaries provide the reassurance of structure, security, safety, and it provides residence a a sense of belonging. The wonderful thing about our 21227 area is our Improvement Associations are coming together and making alliances which will result in a stronger unity!

This Store always has the police there. The staff are rude, they are to busy talking about the party they went to or are going to to even greet you when you go to their register. It really is not in Lansdowne either,it is closer to Halethorpe but it is always understocked. They never have any medicine and the prices are MUCH higher the Severn or Glen Burnie. I too drive the other stores for the most part. If I need something real quick I will go in there, but never on the week end and never after 4 pm during the week. When it opened I had great hopes for it but management has failed the local community by letting it be a poorly run and under stocked store.

jst me,
Though it may seem petty for me to argue the neighborhood name attached to a particular crime incident, such as in this case, it becomes significant when neighborhood organizations are working hard to improve and promote their representative neighborhoods and to then have negative press, though unintentional, attached to their neighborhood. Small communities cropped up along the local railroads and were once able to distinguish themselves by clear boundaries, but the distinctions have blurred as each has grown. When a headline screams out a location of a bad incident (Halethorpe in this case) it sticks in ones mind as a bad place to go to or live in. Though the vast 21227 Zip code is labeled Halethorpe, we here in the very small real Halethorpe don't appreciate the misrepresentation. Though this incident didn't take place on Lakebrook Circle the attacker lives on this street. I feel sorry for the Lansdowne Improvement Association for having to put up with this suburban ghetto within its boundries. LIA tries hard to improve their neighborhood, but McDowell Lane, Twin Circle Way and Lakebrook Circle, really makes their job hard, by offering no news other than crime log briefs. I wasn't trying to slough off this incident to Lansdowne, but merely trying to detach it from Halethorpe.

Very well put Mike! I too feel sorry for the Lansdowne Improvement Association in regards to putting up w/ such mess over there! Our Improvement Associations (Halethorpe, Arbutus, Relay, etc.) work very hard to improve our community residents quality of life, keep our areas maintained, a most of the time w/ very little help! It would be wonderful if everyone would volunteer just a bit of time into the community & neighborhoods in which they live in. What a difference it would make. Its also important to spend 1 hour - once a month to sit in at your neighborhood improvement association meetings! I know the Arbutus Improvment Association as well as myself care about the well being of our community as well as the communites adjacent to us.

I do agree on everything jstme, stated. That store, Port Covington and Catonsville also as well as a few others. When they open, they are so clean, well manner and eager to look for anything a customer need, same goes for mangement. After 3 months, they are so rude, lazy, snotty, while the store, grow old, and dirty, I have seen people stealing right before crews and mangement and they turn their heads, act like they are working hard they don't see happening, so do their flash light rent a cops. who run for the border and hide when they are called to really work. This young lady, should be sent to anger mangement, make sure she serve hard time, why get angry with the other girl, she's not the one to be angry with. The baby is here. It was God's will for this baby to be here. Should have moved on with her life and start fresh for her and her baby. There is nothing in this world like a mother's love and she cannot give it in jail. So in the mean time I do hope all Walmarts learn to stay out the paper, tv, fb, twitter and off the internet. Lorna, Walmart is a dumbed down store for so many reasons. Have you ever tried to ask for asistance in one of those stores? Customer Service is not a top priority of Walmart. Walmart has lost several major lawsuits regarding workers rights (overtime, etc.). Now, mostly due to their labor problems (cutting back on man hours), Walmart is having trouble keeping their shelves stocked:

America is dumbed down for many reasons, but I think you are asking me why I think America is dumbed down in relation to Walmart. Okay, here goes, I'd bet at least 80% of the products sold in Walmart are made overseas by very cheap or even near-slave labor. Many of these products were once made in America. But many middle class Americans were tricked into believing that a strong labor force in America was somehow bad. Who tricked them? Mainingly Ronald Reagan. So, ever since, the very jobs that these Reagan Democrats would be filling today are now heading overseas. I mean, can anyone give me one good reason why these huge flatscreen TV's that so many are people are putting on their credit cards can not be made in the United States? Sean, I realize that it was probably a typo, but Reagan was a republican. Televisions and other electronic devices were being made in foreign countries long before he came along. As for other products, you can go into Sears, Macy's, J CPenney etc and find the same products. They are made in foreign countries as well. America's problem is a vicious circle. Most people cannot afford to buy American made products made by unionized workers, the prices are too high. The prices are too high because the union workers are being paid much more than the average non union worker. Therefore the non union worker does not have the money to pay for the union made product. If everyone's pay were raised to the scale of the union worker then we could all afford to buy union made products.
You know as well as I do that the TV you are talking about would cost well over the $400-$500 the foreign made TV costs. Since everyoe in America thinks that they deserve the same as the rich man, they flock to buy the foreign made products. Walmart tell it exactly like it is in their commercials "live better, shop Walmart". You can villify Walmart for their poor customer service, dirty stores and poorly stocked shelves. You can't villify them for the products they sell or the wages they pay (no one put a gun to the workers head and made them work there) in fact, if it were not for Walmart some of the people that work there are neither intelligent enough or civilized enough to get a job somewhere else.

I have lived in Arbutus Halethorpe and Lansdowne and I do understand the difference of the areas, however to get upset of the location of the shopping center is the issue I was talking about. Not this issue of the where the person who committed this terrible crime was from. She followed this woman from the parking lot in to the store. Then in to the store. To purposely injure her. Just because her EX boyfriend has a child with a new woman. She needs to serve time for this crime. But most likely she will just get a slap on the hand and be left to continue to bully this woman and her family for the rest of her life. She has a long criminal history.

Sean...regarding your remarks about Reagan and NAFTA: The United States, Canada and Mexico signed off on NAFTA in December of 1992 on the condition that each country's respective legislature approved the agreement. Originally, the agreement was drafted between President Bush (senior), Mexican President Carlos Salinas de Gortari and Canada's Prime Minister, Brian Mulroney.
The actual ratification of the agreement in the United States did not occur until November 20, 1993, under the Clinton Administration. Opponents to NAFTA expressed concerns regarding environmental and labor issues should the agreement be ratified. It was at this time that President Clinton tacked on the supplemental NAAEC and the NAALC addendum agreements.
Sean Tully

Lorna, Clinton did sign off on NAFTA, against the wishes of organized labor. Why? Because Clinton was pushed to the center by the GOP who were still pushing the Reagan Revolution goals: open markets, weak labor, limited or no regulation, less corporate taxes and on and on. Clinton was not and should never be mistaken as a pro-labor president. He was an opportunist at best. My saying on NAFTA is: Reagan conceived it, Bush negotiated it, and Clinton signed it. It's sort of like the Moon landing. Sure it happened while Nixon was president, but everyone rightfully gives the credit to Kennedy. NAFTA is the same in reverse. Clinton signed it but it really is Reagan's baby.

Lorna, the housing debacle was caused by government not having adequate oversight and regulation of Fanny, Freddie, and Wall Street...". And, as I am sure you will admit, Ronald Reagan is the person most GOPers point to when they call for less government, right? The Dems did call for more homeownership, but it was the deregulation pushed by the right (and, just like NAFTA, signed by Clinton), that allowed Freddy, Fannie, and Wall Street to absolutely run completely wild. There is a great book called "Reckless-Endangerment," by Gretchen Morgenson. I'd suggest everyone read it. Both parties and Wall Street come out looking bad, but a clear reading points to two main issues in the housing (and economic) meltdown - deregulation/lack of oversight and corporate greed.

The only way this story could be tied to politics is that the very people we are talking about (you know, the majority of Walmart Washington Blvd patrons) would most certainly be Democrats if they are intelligent enough to vote. The ill behaved, loud mouthed, obscenly dressed, food stamp waving, section 8 living, public cat fighting ne'er do wells are just the people the Democratic party wants to suck the taxes out of the rest of us to provide for generation after generation.
