Maryland artist Mary Ann E. Mears was commissioned by Saint Agnes Hospital to create a sculpture for the lobby of the new patient tower opening on May 22.

The sculpture, called “Spun Grace” is comprised of three suspended pieces fabricated in aluminum and coated with a high-quality automotive finish.

The pieces are suspended by stainless steel cable and swivels with ball bearings so the pieces can freely rotate as movement occurs in the lobby. The pieces were designed to create a visual during the rotations although the pieces do not touch.
