Ride Ends at Gunpoint for Baltimore Man
Hitchhiker pulls gun on city man giving lift to Riverview.
A Baltimore City man learned that no good deed goes unpunished after giving a hitchhiker a lift from Fayette and Howard streets downtown to Riverview on May 2, according to police.
At around 4 a.m., a man living on the 200 block of Mount Royal Terrace whose name is being withheld by police, picked up a hitchhiker in downtown Baltimore, officials said.
The victim drove his passenger to the corner of Caledonia Road and Tartarian Court in Riverview, while the suspect got directions speaking over a cell phone, police said.
When the two arrived at the intersection, the passenger pulled a silver revolver from his backpack and told the victim to turn off the ignition, according to police.
The victim fled the vehicle but the suspect did not pursue him, police said. The suspect threw the car keys across the street and left without taking anything, according to police.
