I know this little girl an no matter what no one deserves to die, yes parents should keep a better eye on their children but non the less she still did not deserve this, this is heart breaking an now the family is morning the loss of a dear family memeber. this is a horrible sistuation. we could go on an on, about why she was out this late where was her parent, what was she doing crossing the roads, was it her fault it does not matter, all that matters is that an innocent life was taken , an so many people dont take that into consideration they just jump to conclusion and start running their mouths and dont put their self in that persons situation. it doesnt matter what she was doing crossing the road its no ones business, she was not coming back from mr Gs.. but that is neither here nor there. people are so inconsiderate and it just blows me away, what if this was your family, an yes children are imature so this means be extra careful when you see them playing around. we cant change things. RIP baby girl!

Jami, this article was published on the internet, thus people are commenting. No one said it was her fault and I am very sad about it. It is unimaginable that this could happen to your child. This is a major highway not a street. It is dangerous to drive on let alone walk. we have nothing to protect us except ourselves, because people just don't drive carefully enough or care enough about eachother. We CAN change things.

Maddie was over my house all the time as well as my daughter going over there. She was my other daughter. Major highways, byways, or streets in general people are careless wherever they drive. We have to look out for ourselves. I am in utter shock still and disbelief. I will miss she and my daughter singing every song on the radio. Her smile and her laugh, and being the other big sister to my sons. Route 40 needs to have longer lights for pedestrians for many walk along that route to go to and from work. As a young teen, I would for that was the only means I had to get to work. We shall not knock the parents here, they are going through a rough time as it is. I will always remember Maddie for the young woman that she was growing up to be.

The Catonsville Middle School kids have been VERY upset about this since something was first posted on Facebook (Sat. am. is when my daughter saw it). Please let us know if/when any memorial services are scheduled as I believer many of Maddy's fellow students would want to attend. No matter what the circumstances, it is always tragic when a life so young is ended.
