Where/When: Arbutus United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 4, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Why Go: Food, entertainment and other fun activities are on tap at this family-friendly event!

Where/When: PETCO on Saturday, June 4, and Sunday, June 5, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Why Go: Take a few hours to learn more about the bearded dragon. There will be a question-and-answer session and a scavenger hunt too.

Where/When: Leikin Baylin Dental Care on Friday, June 3, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Why Go: Free food, a moon bounce, face painting and other fun events round out the afternoons' activities. Bring the whole family because everyone is welcome!

Where/When: Lurman Woodland Theatre on Saturday, June 4, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Why Go: Watch this rhythmic performance by the Catonsville High School Steel Drum Band and have a toe-tapping good time!

Columbia:

Where/When: Cradlerock School on Saturday, June 4, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Why Go: If you're looking for a great way to keep your kids entertained on a hot evening, look no further than this spring festival! Everyone is welcome to come out and enjoy the moon bounce, obstacle courses, cake walk, DJ and other fun!

Pricing: Free

Where/When: Centennial Park on Sunday, June 5, at 9 a.m.

Why Go: Register for the 5K or Fun Run now! Spend the first part of your morning getting some exercise and then stay for the rest of the afternoon and enjoy the Healthy Howard Day events featuring live performances, health screenings and other fun activities!

Pricing: 5K/Fun Run: Individuals: $25, families: $35; Healthy Howard Day: free

Elkridge:

Where/When: Howard High School on Saturday, June 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Don't let the name fool you: everyone is welcome to this health fair that will have free health screenings. Other health-related information will be available that will give you tips on how to stay fit!

Pricing: Free

Where/When: Sandy Point State Park at 1100 E College Pkwy in Annapolis on Friday, June 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Why Go: Watch Howard High School be recognized as a certified Maryland Green School and then take part in other events like workshops, presentations and a town hall meeting. Plus there will be a governor's address.

Ellicott City:

Where/When: Wilde Lake High School (Jim Rouse Theatre) on Saturday, June 4, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Why Go: This is the last performance of the season for the orchestra, so bring your family and listen to some beautiful tunes. Come a half hour early for a “Prelude” with Bill Scanlan Murphy.

Pricing: Adults: $20, seniors/group rates: $16, full-time students (up to 24 years old): $10

Where/When: Historical Society Museum at 8328 Court Ave. in Ellicott City on Sunday, June 5, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Why Go: If you have a budding historian or photographer on your hands, take him or her to this educational event that covers how to preserve old photographs with a lecture from Lou LeConte.
