Arbutus:

Where/When: American Legion Dewey Lowman Post 109 on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: There will be prizes for the best cars and trucks, including a few specialty prizes, and plenty of exciting raffles too!

Pricing: Admission is free

Where/When: Arbutus Town Hall on Sunday, Sept. 25, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Why Go: Don't worry about missing the Ravens game: it'll be shown on two big-screen TVs! While you're watching the Ravens beat the Rams, take your chances on some prizes (including tickets to an upcoming game) and feast on a variety of food and drinks.

Pricing: $45

Catonsville:

Where/When: University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) on Friday, Sept. 23, and Saturday, Sept. 24, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Why Go: Talented performers will dance the night away, and the company features Catherine Cabeen, who has danced the Martha Graham Dance Company and Pearl Lang Dance Theater.

Pricing: General admission: $15, students/seniors: $10

Where/When: Emmanuel Lutheran Church and School on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 2 p.m.

Why Go: The Catonsville Emergency Food Ministries Network needs your help: they're trying to raise money! Enjoy a concert hosted by 8-year-old Finnian McClain and his friends as they perform for a good cause. Afterwards, stick around for the bake sale.

Pricing: Admission to concert: canned goods; bake sale prices vary

Columbia:

Where/When: Oakland Mills High School on Sunday, Sept. 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Why Go: All it takes to find out if you can be a bone marrow donor is a swab to the inside of your cheek. It's a simple process that can help save a life!

Pricing: Free

Where/When: The Other Barn on Sunday, Sept. 25, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Why Go: Join these 10 local artists at a reception and show. Wine, music and light refreshments will be available.

Pricing: Free but donations are accepted

Elkridge:

Where/When: On the Border on Saturday, Sept. 24, at 9 a.m.

Why Go: The Susan G. Komen Foundation will benefit from this car, bike and truck show featuring some of the area's finest vehicles. Be sure to be there for the awards ceremony that starts at 3 p.m.!

Pricing: Free admission; registration is $15/vehicle

Where/When: Grace Episcopal Church on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Not only will you drive away with a clean car, you'll also get to enjoy a tasty snowball while your car is being washed! Proceeds benefit the church.

Pricing: Donation

Ellicott City:

Where/When: Historical Society Museum at 8328 Court Ave. on Sunday, Sept. 25, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Why Go: Get your copy of “Images of America: Howard County” signed by Senator James N. Robey, who wrote the book's forward. After that, get your copy of “Trusty the Tractor” signed by author Martha Clark.

Pricing: Signings are free; copies of the book are extra
