Fire-Rescue Log: Roadside Childbirth in Halethorpe

During the period August 12-19, AVFD received 79 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:
Aug. 12: At 2:04 p.m., a motor vehicle accident involving a bicycle was reported on Frederick Road at Devere Lane in Catonsville. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville career station responded. One critically injured person was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Aug. 15: At 4:51 p.m., an imminent childbirth was reported on the 3700 block of Washington Boulevard in Halethorpe. Crews from the AVFD responded and delivered a baby. Both patients were transported to a local hospital.
Aug. 15: At 7:45 p.m., a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries was reported on the 1200 block of Linden Ave. in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded to find property damage only.
Aug. 15: At 10:10 p.m., a dwelling fire was reported on the 1100 block of Oakmoor Court in Halethorpe. Crews from the AVFD and Halethorpecareer station responded to find a malfunctioning sump pump but no fire.
Aug. 16: At 2:04 a.m., an auto fire was reported on Selford Road at Sulphur Spring Road in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD responded and extinguished the fire.
