Fire-Rescue Log: House Fire in Westview

Recent activity of Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department.

During the period May 13-20, AVFD received 81 calls for medical and fire-rescue service, including the following:

May 14: At 12:16 p.m., a dwelling fire was reported on the 1900 block of Greengage Road in Westview. Crews from the Arbutus and Liberty Road volunteer stations and Catonsville, Halethorpe and Westview career stations responded to find an electrical fire with no other hazards.

May 14: At 4:29 p.m., a motor vehicle accident with an unknown hazard was reported on I-695 at Exit 12 in Catonsville. Crews from the Arbutus and English Consul volunteer stations and Catonsville and Halethorpe career stations responded. One person with non-life-threatening injuries was taken to a local hospital.

May 15: At 5:31 a.m., a motor vehicle accident with entrapment was reported on I-95 northbound between Exits 46 and 47 in Catonsville. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville and Halethorpe career stations responded to find no entrapment. One person with non-life threatening injuries was taken to a local hospital.

May 15: At 7:36 a.m., a motor vehicle accident with injury was reported on I-695 between Exits 12 and 13 in Arbutus. Crews from the AVFD and Catonsville and Halethorpe career stations responded. Three people with non-life-threatening injuries were taken to local hospitals.

May 18: At 11:59 a.m., a building fire was reported at Advance Polybag Incorporated at 6935 San Tomas Road in Howard County. Crews from the AVFD and Halethorpe career station responded and assisted crews with extinguishing a second alarm warehouse fire. No injuries were reported.
