Farmers Market Coming to Arbutus

News and notes from Arbutus Business and Professional Association.

Residents in the greater Arbutus area will find it easier to buy fresh local produce when a farmers market begins operating this June in the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department parking lot.

The farmers market will he held on Thursdays from 2 to 6 p.m. beginning June 9, according to Patti Sue Nolan, the new president of Arbutus Business and Professional Association.

The farmers market was among the items discussed at the ABPA meeting Thursday at Gianni's restaurant on Washington Boulevard.

Pete Kriscumas, legislative aide to 1st District county councilman Tom Quirk, informed the group of traffic disruptions on Ten Oaks Road for the next few months. An 8-inch water main is being replaced with a 12-inch pipe to better serve the community.

The project is scheduled to begin in March and conclude by August, at a cost of about $350,000, Kriscumas says.
